In June 16th, the emergency response of public health emergencies in Beijing was adjusted from three to two. This is another increase in the level of emergency response after May 7th when all the high-risk areas in China were cleared.

In June, this is the season for college graduates to leave school. This year's graduation season is greatly different from previous years due to factors such as epidemic situation and emergency response adjustment. For some graduating students, returning to school and attending graduation ceremonies also have some thresholds and constraints. For example, if they go in and out of Beijing, they need nucleic acid testing first to get negative results in one week before they can travel freely.

What worries these students is more than that. They are more concerned about employment choices after graduation. In fact, in 2020, the number of graduates from colleges and universities in China reached 8 million 740 thousand, an increase of 400 thousand over 2019. The increase in the number of graduates has increased the pressure of employment this year. What is more troubling is that in the past half a year, the demand for labor has declined significantly due to insufficient orders. The superposition of these two factors once again increases the difficulty of graduates' employment.

What is the actual employment situation of the graduates under the epidemic situation? In order to understand the actual situation, this reporter sent a questionnaire survey to the graduates of the textile science and Engineering College of Tianjin University of Technology, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and other textile colleges and universities, the graduate students, teachers of the engineering college, and some other teachers and students.

As of June 5th, a total of 126 valid questionnaires were collected. According to the questionnaire, there are 62 students who have been employed, and 14 are going to enroll in graduate students. They intend to study abroad for 4 people. There are 40 job seekers and 40 people who do not go to graduate school. Under the influence of the epidemic, the employment situation of fresh graduates is not optimistic, and the number of students going abroad to study abroad has decreased significantly compared with previous years.

Optimism and worry are at hand.

At present, the development of various industries in the world has been more or less affected, and the textile industry is no exception. Whether for individuals or for enterprises and even the whole industry, this crisis has brought us a lot of thinking. How to improve and transform itself according to the current situation, and adapt to the current environmental changes, is also becoming a focus and the direction of efforts for graduates.

Sun Wenrui, a fresh graduate of Tianjin University of Technology, has signed a job interview with a large domestic garment company in Suzhou last year. Speaking of this job, she was very satisfied: "I am still very lucky. The company informed me that I had arranged for the staff quarters in July 8th, and the working environment was also very excellent, which is really a very rare opportunity for me to work."

Compared with Sun Wenrui, Ceng Fanjie, a graduate of Tianjin University of Technology who has signed an agreement with the working unit, is not so optimistic: "at present, my employment has not been greatly affected. But I also understand that some enterprises will choose to lay off workers in the face of the outbreak crisis. I feel a bit anxious and stressed, and I am a bit worried about my own being laid off.

Deng Ling, a graduate of Tianjin University of Technology who is preparing for postgraduate entrance examination, admitted that the epidemic did affect the employment of graduates. According to her understanding, at present, students who find jobs in their classes are basically determined at the autumn recruitment fair. There are many job opportunities in the spring job fairs, but the main recruitment posts are basically concentrated in sales, while other functions are few. During this long vacation, Deng Ling deeply realized the difference between school and society, the difference between job hunting and learning. She hopes to prepare for her career ahead of time, such as focusing on professional skills and personal bonus points. In addition, we need to take part in some internship work so that we can have a deeper understanding of the development trend of the industry, instead of just focusing on what we learn in the classroom.

Liang Yuxuan, who is looking for an internship, has his own deep experience in this long vacation: "because of the epidemic, the unemployment rate in the workplace has become higher, and it is not easy for graduates to find jobs. Therefore, we should first use the time to study and improve ourselves, and enlarge the sparkle of ourselves to add value to ourselves."

Tian Tian, Tianjin University of Technology, said: "because of the epidemic situation, the employment problem has become very serious this year. In order to alleviate the employment problem, the state will expand enrollment and take the examination of civil service places, which is a good opportunity for many graduates to improve themselves.

In the face of this epidemic, it is not just fresh graduates who are under pressure, but some of them are also worried about it. Lu Shuangyi, who is studying two in Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, obviously realized the pressure of employment and began to prepare for graduation and employment next year. But he has full confidence in the future development of the industry. He said, "the textile industry is like a big tree that has grown for thousands of years in the forest of the world industry. Its foundation is deep and strong. It can be easily shaken without a little trouble. I am optimistic about the development of the global and Chinese textile industry in the future. Because textile products are necessary for people's life, with the continuous increase of population and the continuous improvement of consumption level, it is bound to increase.

More diversified ways of job hunting

The epidemic has not only allowed graduates to rethink how to cope with the future, even though university teachers have begun to think about how to carry out teaching reform under the situation of normalization of epidemic situation. For example, the epidemic makes teachers and students quickly adapt to the online teaching mode. Online teaching is the key to achieving better quality and quantity of teaching tasks and achieving the established training objectives. This is a new test for teachers and students. Some university teachers reflect that online teaching mode tests the interaction and cooperation between teaching and learning, and puts forward new requirements for teachers' adequacy of preparing lessons, controlling classroom initiative and grasping students' attention.

The sudden outbreak not only changed the traditional teaching mode, but also brought new challenges to the employment of university graduates.

Wang Xiaobao, a teacher at the school of art at Tianjin University of Technology, said that compared with previous years, the overall employment situation of students is indeed more severe this year, but at the same time the school has taken more effective measures to promote the employment of graduates. During the epidemic period, recruitment work, counselors and class mentors have fully implemented the spirit of documents in schools and colleges. Schools and colleges have actively joined up with enterprises, helping students analyze their employment advantages and career planning, and strive to broaden their employment path. In addition, the state, universities and enterprises have introduced many new employment support and promotion policies, and job seeking methods are more diversified. Graduates should actively understand these policy information, open their own horizons, and believe that they can benefit their own job search.

Shi Yunlong, a teacher in the school of textile science and engineering at Tianjin University of Technology, also expressed similar views. In fact, the employment of textile science and engineering students was quite relaxed in previous years. At the end of the fourth semester of senior high school, many students had signed agreements with employers. In response to the special circumstances this year, some of the students took the initiative in their own efforts to find ways. For example, some students chose to continue their studies, including graduate students in China and overseas graduates. Schools have also provided some help to students who have not yet done so. A number of online job fairs were held to attract employers to recruit. As a result of the epidemic, enterprises who had been unable to recruit online for various reasons had participated in online recruitment this time, so their employment has also been guaranteed.

For graduating students, division Yunlong said, "young is the biggest capital, hope that they can grasp this capital, do not idle away their time, and keep moving forward. Although some difficulties have been encountered, the pace of progress can be slowed down, but do not stagnate. He believes that everyone will have a bright future.
