Recently, the AQSIQ and the National Standards Committee approved the issuance of the mandatory national standard GB31701-2015 "infant and child textile product safety technical specification".

Dai Hong, director of the two national standard industrial standard, said that in view of the particularity of infants and children groups, the standard further improved the safety requirements of infants and children's textile products on the basis of the original textile safety standards, and the safety requirements were upgraded in an all-round way.

In terms of chemical safety requirements, the standard increased 6 kinds of plasticizers and lead, cadmium, 2 kinds of heavy metal requirements.

In terms of mechanical safety, the standard provides detailed regulations for the different parts of children's clothing, such as head, neck, shoulder and waist, requiring no rope for children and children under 7 years of age.

The standard also stipulates textile accessories, requiring that attachments should have certain tensile strength and should not have sharp edges and sharp edges.

In addition, the standard also increased the combustion performance requirements.

According to the age difference, children's clothing is divided into two categories. It is suitable for infants and young children aged 36 months and below, and is suitable for children's textile products. It is suitable for children over 3 years of age and children under 14 years old.

According to the different safety requirements, the standard also divides children's safety technology categories into three categories: A, B and C. Class A is the best, followed by B class, and C class is the basic requirement.

The standards require that infants and young children's textile products should meet category a requirements. Children's textile products with direct contact with the skin should meet the requirements of category B at least. Children's textile products with direct contact with the skin should at least meet the requirements of category C.

At the same time, children's clothing should be marked on the instructions, and infant textile products should also be filled with "baby products".

In the future, when choosing children's clothing, consumers can refer to the safety categories specified in the instructions.
