One of the biggest sponsors, the sports giant Adidas group, is paying 10 pounds (15 dollars) a week to the Kampuchea garment factory workers who produce London Olympic licensed goods.

It is reported that Adidas has invested 100 million pounds in the Olympic Games and is one of the biggest sponsors of the Olympic Games.

According to the report, Adidas's workers in the garment processing plant in the capital of Phnom Penh, Kampuchea, need to work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, and the average weekly wage of workers is 10 pounds (about 15 dollars).

On the 14 day, Adidas said that the garment factory workers could get 130 dollars a month, and by September, Adidas will also increase their wages.

In response, a spokesman for the London Organizing Committee said in an interview with the media that the OCOG attached great importance to the accusation and would investigate the matter.

The London Olympic Organizing Committee signed an agreement with Olympic merchandise manufacturers:

Olympic sponsors

We must provide workers with adequate basic living security wages.

Labour Behind the Label said Adidas's wages to Kampuchea workers violated this agreement.

A spokesman for Adidas group admitted that they did have factories in Kampuchea to produce London.

However, he thought Adidas did not violate its agreement with the London Olympic Organizing Committee.

He said, "the average wage of garment factory employees is 130 dollars per month, which is much higher than the minimum wage stipulated by Kampuchea."

A spokesman for the labor union behind the trademark said that although the minimum wage for workers in Kampuchea was $66 per month, the minimum wage for a Kampuchea family with two children should be $260 per month.
