China cotton and cotton group, the largest cotton enterprise in China, has recently entered the export processing zone of Weifang, Shandong. It will rely on the bonded warehouse of Ruyuan storage and logistics company in Shandong, to build the largest import cotton bonded storage base in the north. It can import 100 thousand tons of cotton and worth about 200 million dollars annually. The first 1000 tons of cotton imported from Cameroon have been sold to Weifang's surrounding enterprises.

Weifang is one of the largest textile enterprises in the country. It consumes more than 500 thousand tons of raw materials per year.

In February 2009, the State Council approved the Weifang export processing zone to increase the function of bonded logistics. In that year, bonded logistics amounted to $480 million.
